Recently Hari Simran Singh Khalsa attended “Sat Nam Fest” in Mexico. As a dedicated Sikh he was a frequenter of Sikh camps, workshops and spiritual events. On Dec 30th he happily went on a hike to take in the beautiful environment. This last picture of him which he took, in his text he simply said, “Looking down on you!”
When he didn’t return a massive search effort was launched involving police, rescue workers, search dogs, helicopters, the FBI, local and national governments of Mexico, the United States Embassy, the Red Cross and hundreds of volunteers. Mexican officials remarked that they had never seen so many organization working together before.
On the fourth day of searching his body was found. A small group of friends including his wife were allowed near the body where they recited Jap ji and then Kirtan Sohila. His wife, Ad Purakh Kaur Khalsa, during his memorial service later said with a huge heart, “We do not believe in the body.”

For them it is no coincidence that the birthday of Guru Gobind Singh falls at the same time that this son of the Guru has returned home. They wrote: “This journey has been a testament to the enormous amount of love and goodness he shared with us all during his time on earth.
